〈u̯àu〉interiez. e s. ingl. – 1. interiez. Voce onomatopeica, diffusa attraverso i fumetti e i telefilm per ragazzi, e adottata soprattutto nell’uso giovanile per esprimere soddisfazione, entusiasmo, eccitazione intensa oppure un sentimento, per lo più positivo, di meraviglia o d’impressione.

Jessica è una pittrice, Chiara una fotografa, Ginevra una videomaker, ognuna guarda il mondo attraverso la propria lente, ma c’è un filo sottile che accomuna questi sguardi: sono tutte insegnanti. Da anni trascorrono ore interfacciandosi con le età più delicate della vita di futuri uomini e future donne. Insegnano loro inglese, geografia, arte, italiano ma nonostante le diciture formali quello che cercano di fare ogni giorno, entrando in classe, è di far sperimentare ai propri studenti la gioia dello stupore e della meraviglia e  di non dare nulla per scontato.

In questa mostra collettiva le tre artiste/insegnanti affrontano il tema dello stupore infantile/puerile/adolescenziale visivamente tramite la fotografia e la video-arte, osservando i loro alunni, figli, nipoti, cugini, sconosciuti posti davanti all’inaspettato e l'inusuale.

W O W

/waʊ/ – 1 Onomatopoeic term, widespread through comic books and children's TV series. Exclamation adopted among young people to express satisfaction, enthusiasm, intense excitement or a mostly positive feeling of wonder or impression.

Jessica is a painter, Chiara a photographer and Ginevra a video maker. Each of them looks at the world through their own lens. Separates gazes tied-up by a common thread: the world of teaching. The three of them, in fact, are teachers and share for this reason, the complexity of spending years and hours facing young adults who are living one of the most delicate ages of their lives. Behind the daily task of teaching students subjects as English, geography, art and Italian, the three of them share the objective of teaching them joy, amazement, wonder and of never taking anything for granted.

This group exhibition is the result of a close observation led by the three artists and teachers. Pupils, children, grandchildren, cousins, and strangers are the protagonists of these photographs and videos but before them, the focus is their feelings of wonder when facing the unexpected and the unusual.
